The limited editions of Original Ptolomeo and La Cima
have been created thanks to the long friendship between Opinion Ciatti and
Mohd. Bruno Rainaldi's free-standing bookshelves and Lapo Ciatti clothes hanger
rope, two of the Florentine company's most iconic pieces have been
reinterpreted exclusively for the Sicilian company leader in high-end furniture
distribution.
The bond that unites Opinion Ciatti and Mohd has distant roots which date back in the mid-1980s, when two
design Ladies, real pioneers in the sector, met for the first time. A
relationship of mutual respect was immediately established between Flavia
Ciatti and Franca Mollura. They had the same understanding of design, the
capacity for analysis and perspective, and an extraordinary flair for emerging
trends.
Flavia Ciatti
astonished with the kitchens of Ciatti a Tavola, and Franca Mollura brought to
Sicily the best that the world of furniture could offer.
Today, there is the new
generation with Lapo and Gianluca leading the respective companies, where the
esteem and affection have remained unchanged, and consolidated during time.
Therefore, when at the
beginning of summer during a trip to Sicily the idea of giving life to a
special collaboration was revealed to Mrs. Ciatti, the response was immediate
and enthusiastic. This is how it was decided to give a new look to Original
Ptolomeo and La Cima, embellishing them with details capable of increasing the
already innate refinement of the products
Total Black for the limited edition of Original Ptolomeo, produced in only 99 pieces. The free-standing bookshelves by Bruno Rainaldi, Compasso d’Oro 2004, presents itself with an exclusive and very elegant base in black marquina marble, which makes a piece, now part of the history of contemporary design, even more regal.
Total White instead for
the special edition of La Cima clothes hanger by Lapo Ciatti: the nautical rope, the terminal
elements and metal hooks are white; vines are the only note of colour, they are precious with their golden finish. A ton sur ton version that goes well with the
candid atmospheres of the Christmas period.
"Creating limited editions for Mohd was an interesting experience for us from a professional point of view - says Lapo Ciatti, CEO of Opinion Ciatti. Making the details of the pluses, focusing on care and attention: our vision and that of Mohd in this could not be more similar. Thanks to the commitment and work of our mothers, I have always known Gianluca Mollura and I respect him a lot. He succeeded in making Sicily one of the starting points of the design Made in Italy, so what I hope is that this is only the first episode of a collaboration destined over the years to develop and keep growing.”
"We are very happy
for this collaboration with Opinion Ciatti, a partnership that originates from
the sharing of common values, the desire for innovation and the curiosity to
load the world of design with products of superior excellence" says
Gianluca Mollura, CEO of Mohd.
