“Rest is the moment when we come closest to memories and dreams. Who has never wished to spend at least one night in a canopy bed, like the ones in fairytales?” This was the question Lapo Ciatti posed when he designed the very first version of ILletto in 2017.
Today, that vision takes on a new form and opens up to outdoor living. Opinion Ciatti presents the evolution of ILletto in a version specically developed for outdoor use. A piece that retains all its dreamlike appeal and reinterprets it with materials and finishes suitable for gardens, terraces and verandas, transforming them into enchanting, fairytale-like settings. Alongside the RAL colours, the steel structure can now be finished in Corkcrete, the innovative cork- and natural compound-based material introduced at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024. Combining aesthetics and high performance, it is extremely resistant to weather and salt mist, pleasant to the touch, and 100% sustainable. Its excellent thermal insulation properties enhance comfort and usability. Thanks to its honeycomb-like structure, air is trapped inside the material, maintaining a stable surface temperature throughout the seasons and preventing overheating during the summer months.
The natural plywood slatted base of the indoor version becomes, in the outdoor version, a strong and durable panel made from a double-green eco-friendly material. A mattress, with two backrests reclining to five positions, invites full relaxation and enjoyment of the open air. Adjustable feet ensure stability on all kinds of surfaces, while optional sheer curtains (available in two colours) can be draped on all sides, including overhead, creating an oasis of privacy and shelter from sun and breeze.
Available in three sizes, ILletto comes with or without a plywood headboard, either rigid or—exclusively for indoor use—upholstered and covered in fabric or leather.
