Mammamia also presents itself in a fashion guise...for the daring only!
Dotted with 398 studs, strictly applied by hand, Mammamia Punk is a special edition by Lapo Ciatti of the Mammamia chair. Like the original version, it has a frame in die-cast aluminum and structure in steel
Introduced in 2013, the same year as the "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Mammamia Punk is a chair that embodies the unconventional, non-conformist spirit of the punk movement which proudly recalls in its name.
Its finishes are equally striking, ranging from essential black or white versions with gold or chrome studs to a captivating hand-polished mirror-effect version with matching studs.
Definitely not meant to go unnoticed, Mammamia Punk is a refined concentrate of rebellious energy that will lend an unforgettable charm to any space it inhabits.
"I’ve
always been fascinated by the punk world, by its non-conformist aggressiveness
and its rebelliousness. A style characterised by "do it yourself" strategies,
where tiny details are sufficient to place objects and clothing in a new
context.
This is what
happened in the Mammamia Punk project: we applied one of the symbols of punk
culture to the backrest of the chair and what opened up before our eyes was a
completely new semantic universe."
